Greenair's technology is based on a revolutionary patent-pending concept of augmenting a wireless network with non-transmitting devices (dubbed “Green Antennas”), which minimize the overall exposure to radiation. These Green Antennas ensure that wireless end-user devices (such as cellular phones, PDAs, laptops etc.) in their proximity transmit at the lowest possible radiated power.

The Green Antenna receives ('listens to') the wireless signal emitted by the end-user device, and passes it on to the network infrastructure via wire-line connections. In modern wireless systems (such as 3G & 4G cellular), the emitted power of the end-user device is closely linked to the distance from the nearest receiver. Thus, the employment of a nearby Green Antenna (which is a receiver) lowers the power transmitted from the end-user device to the minimum, while not exposing the user to excess radiation (as the Green-Antenna does not transmit at all). This new concept is in contrast to the architecture of standard wireless systems featuring co-located transmitters and receivers (such as cellular towers, femtocells and antennas).
As most of the wireless usage is indoors, and since on average the transmitted power in indoor scenarios is higher than that in outdoor scenarios (indoors there is a need to penetrate walls), it is only natural to begin by addressing the indoor environment. Greenair's technology transforms standard wireless user devices into the lowest emission communication devices indoors. Specifically, with Greenair's indoor solutions, a 3G phone would transmit at significantly lower power than cordless phones (DECT), WiFi or Bluetooth devices. In typical scenarios, with Greenair's solutions, a 3G phone would transmit as low as 1/1000th the power of a Bluetooth headset!!!
